2 new ticket counters for India-Bangladesh passengers at Kolkata station

The Indian Railways have opened two additional ticket counters at Kolkata station to cope with the rush of India-Bangladesh cross-border passengers.
The development comes as the demand of rail tickets has gone up significantly since the decline of Covid-19 infections, reports our New Delhi correspondent quoting an Indian railway official as saying today.
Passengers travelling between the two neighbouring countries by Maitree Express, Bandhan Express and Mitali Express can avail tickets at the two additional counters, the official said.
With these, there are now four ticket counters meant exclusively for India-Bangladesh train passengers. The counters will help cope with increased demand following a downturn in the pandemic and are open on all weekdays between 10 am-4 pm (local time), he said.
Maitree Express connects Kolkata and Dhaka, Bandhan Express travels between Kolkata and Khulna and Mitali Express runs between New Jalpaiguri and Dhaka.
