With Eid-uI-Adha just around the corner, actors are already busy trying to churn out quality projects for the audience. For popular television actor and thespian Maznun Mizan, the mise en scène of a tele-fiction has carried him to Indonesia. In a recent interview with The Daily Star, the actor reveals more about his upcoming work.

What tele-fiction are you working on in Indonesia?

We are shooting a tele-film directed by Mizanur Rahman Aryan titled Probashi. Apurbo is also teaming up with me in the main cast. After wrapping this up and returning to Bangladesh, I will be traveling to Kolkata to attend the premiere of Bhuban Majhi.

What other projects do you have lined up for Eid?

There's quite a few. I will travel to Kishoreganj to shoot for an Eid tele-fiction directed by Mahfuz Ahmed. l have recently completed working on another venture titled Kaathpencil in Kolkata, with Ishita as my co-star and Soumitra Chatterjee as one of the main cast members. Other projects include a tele-fiction titled Majnu Bhai er Korbani Eid, and two ventures directed by Shihab Shahin and Ashiqur Rahman.

You have recently traveled to London to represent the film Bhuban Majhi. How was your experience there?

Bhuban Majhi is a Liberation War film, and it has garnered a lot of praise since its release. We attended the Rainbow Film Festival in London, where l was bestowed the best actor award for my work in the film. Before this, I attended another film festival in Russia.

What are your aspirations around acting?

I would just like to be an artiste of critical value. All that l have learned stems from working in Dhaka Theatre, where l was a troupe member for many years. It gave me the depth to represent many characters on stage and on screen. I have been fortunate enough to be loved by many, and nothing would make me happier than to live more closely with my fellow men, and live out my life as an artiste true to his work.
