Having started his career with theatre, Chanchal Chowdhury has won over both the television and film industry with his charming presence. After his tremendous performance in Monpura, there was no looking back for the actor. In a recent interview to The Daily Star, Chanchal Chowdhury talks about his Eid projects.

Tell us about the tele-fictions that you have worked in.

I have appeared in three seven episode tele-fictions titled Stree, Hero Jokhon Villain, which are both directed by Masud Sezan, and Kolkatar Dada Babu, directed by Imraul Rafat.

There was a time when we used to watch Eid special shows for three days only. These shows are being aired for seven days now. How are you viewing this change?

Plenty of shows are being produced during Eid, but very few end up touching viewers' hearts. I believe in quality, not quantity. If we can provide quality content for seven days, then these numbers will not matter.

Tell us about your recent telefilms.

I have worked with Mostofa Sarwar Farooki in Ayesha. It has a beautiful story, which I think people have loved. My other telefilms include Rotnogorbha, directed by Sagar Jahan, Town Number One, directed by Shokal Ahmed, Bhaager Maa, directed by Dipu Hazra, Laak Bhelki Laak, directed by Golam Sohrab Dodul and Britto, directed by Abu Hayat Mahmud. Each of these them have unique stories. I always aspire to be featured in noteworthy work.

Are you going to watch any Eid special shows this vacation?

As I am staying in Dhaka this Eid, I hope to watch other artistes' work along with mine.

I am eagerly waiting for Debi, just as my fans are. It will release soon.
