Another victim dies
A victim of Savar tragedy, who had been struggling for life, succumbed to her injuries yesterday afternoon at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Apollo Hospitals, Dhaka.
The deceased Rupali Begum, 35, wife of Meher Ali, was hailing from Badarganj, Rangpur.
She worked on the sixth floor of the nine-storey Rana Plaza building, which housed several garment factories, collapsed on April 24.
Mary Akhtar, daughter of Rupali, told The Daily Star that her mother was rescued on the first day.
She was admitted to Enam Medical College Hospital, Savar and, later, to Dhaka Medical College Hospital before shifting to Apollo Hospitals, Mary added.
Rupali, who left behind her two sons and two daughters, had been living at Bank Colony, Savar, on the outskirts of the capital.
The death toll now stands at 1,132. So far 2,438 people were pulled out alive from the debris of the building.
