AL man killed in Satkhira

Yet another Awami League man was killed allegedly by Islami Chhatra Shibir activists in Satkhira Sadar upazila yesterday evening.
Sirajul Islam, 53, was shot by Shibir gunmen at his house in Kachupukur village around 9:30pm. He died on the spot, said Enamul Haque, acting officer-in-charge of Satkhira Sadar Police Station.
Kabir Hossain, son of Sirajul, said 10 to 12 activists of Shibir, student wing of Jamaat-e-Islami, entered their house with lethal weapons and firearms, and opened fire on his father who was taking preparation to go to bed.
They also chopped Kawsar Ali, 58, sister-in-law of Sirajul, and Kawsar's son Shimul Hossain, 20, at that time.
Police rescued the two and admitted them to Satkhira Sadar Hospital.
Since November 26, four AL leaders and activists including Siraj have been killed by Jamaat-Shibir men. A freedom fighter was also killed on Wednesday.
