AL lawmaker uses abusive words at JS

The House session yesterday was wrecked by disorder and walkout as Awami League MP Nazma Akhtar launched blistering personal attacks on BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia.
Nazma taking the floor on budget, questioned the Muslim identity of the BNP chief's parents Taiyaba Majumder and Iskandar Majumder. In protest, the opposition lawmakers staged a brief walkout.
Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury at one stage switched off Nazma's microphone and requested the lawmaker to speak on budget. But Nazma continued amid clapping of treasury bench MPs and presence of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
On Sunday, a female MP of BNP claimed the wife of prime minister's son Joy is a Jew.
Pointing to this, Nazma claimed the actual name of Khaleda's mother is Laxmi Rani Marma and likewise, Iskandar Majumder is not the real name of the opposition leader's father.
The opposition MPs without microphone raised a hue and cry and at 9:30pm walked out of the House.
Nazma at the end of her speech attacked BNP MPs Rehana Akhtar Ranu and Syeda Ashifa Ashrafi Papiya, saying even ghosts and evil spirits will get scared looking at the faces of the two “beauty queens”.
Earlier, speaking on budget, BJP MP Andaleeve Rahman Partho claimed ex-communications Minister Syed Abul Hossain is the “biggest player” in power sector graft.
He claimed Abul Hossain was the single bidder for a 150MW power plant in Sylhet in 2009. “He was also the single bidder for another 150MW power plant in Sirajganj in 2010.”
