A Journey Made of Care!
Star Campus has worked with Korvi and Jaago Foundation a number of times.
A pen and a piece of paper can help unify us in a way that only few can have the same effect. Whether you share information, your life stories or what you believe – people see you, understand you, loathe you or make a bond through the juggling of characters you call words! As Dumbledore said, “Words are, in my not-so-humble opinion, our most exhaustible source of magic”. And Star Campus was that wand that had our youth cast their magic with words, conjure the Patronus Charm of their most ecstatic moment of success and drive off the Dementors of isolation from their fellow beings!
My journey has been of a similar kind with Star Campus who had been with JAAGO Foundation and Volunteer for Bangladesh (VBD) in their many efforts to bring together the youth in the country, promote the works of our youth volunteers and spread the cause we are working for. It was that platform to reach their voice to youth around the country – not only those of a certain university or a certain club but youth in general, irrespective of their dissents. This youth magazine, which itself is run by a group of young, enthusiastic and extremely talented individuals, understood us, our resolve to work for the country, and our urge to extend, expand and reach!
JAAGO and Volunteer for Bangladesh are working to engage youth for providing free-of-cost education to underprivileged children and we arrange various campaigning events about crucial social issues. And Star Campus has been with us in all those throbbing and exciting campaigns steered by the young volunteers to raise awareness about environment, child rights and everything that matters to touch the heart and mind of people and rebuild the nation. We value the care, support and good will that Star Campus and the brilliant faces behind it showed to us. Thank you so much for being with us, Star Campus! Your contribution in our cause will always be remembered with applaud, gratitude and love! We will always prize this journey together that was made of care!

The people behind the magazine represented the new generation of Bangladeshis. They showed us that there are young, bright people in Bangladesh, who value public service and are committed to working towards a more inclusive and just society. I would like to thank several of the Campus staff members, to whom we at BYLC owe a great debt of gratitude. And while space does not allow me to thank each and every person individually, there are a few who cannot go unnamed. To Shahnoor Wahid, the former editor, I am beholden to him for his support; not only did he attend our programs, but also he was one BYLC's earliest proponents, always offering encouragement and advice. We have been fortunate that Shahnoor bhai's successor, Elita Karim, has also been a kind friend to BYLC. To her, I would like to express my deepest thanks for her friendship; she has given us not only space in her pages but her time as well, running workshops on writing for our participants and speaking at our programs. And of course, I am deeply grateful to the many talented journalists who have worked at Campus over the last few years, including Mahdin Mahoob, Sara Z H, Tabassum Mokhduma, Ridwan Karim and Sumaiya Ahsan Bushra.
And so, while goodbyes are sad, they also provide us an opportunity to step back and reflect on the journey we have shared together. We at BYLC have been privileged to have been a part of the Campus journey. While the form of the new Campus column will be new, the spirit will remain the same. We eagerly look forward to it, and all of us at BYLC wish them all the best on their new initiative.
