A few Joyful Moments Across the Man-Made Barrier
Ignoring scorching heat thousands of Bangalees living in the two neighbouring countries of Bangladesh and Indian Paschimbanga gathered on both sides of the barbed wire fence on Omarkhana border in Panchagarh Sadar upazila on Pahela Baishakh, the first day of the Bangla New Year on Sunday, to meet their near and dear ones for a few moments. Standing on about four kilometers on both sides of the barbed wire fence they exchanged greetings and talked heartily from 10:30am to 1:30pm. A large number of these people are those who cannot afford financially to visit their relatives on the other side of the man-made barrier. They eagerly wait for this special day to take the unique opportunity.
