Police in their ongoing drive arrested some 992 accused, including 14 identified criminals from across the country in last 24 hours ending at 6am yesterday.

The law enforcers also recovered four firearms and 12 rounds of bullet during the drive and filed three cases against three people under Arms Act.

M Amir Ali of Meherpur, Wahid Sheikh of Bagerhat, Shamim Talukder of Jhalakati, M Quaiyum Mia of Faridpur, Julhas, Tariqul Islam and Kamal Hossain of Dhaka city, A Rahim and Abu Syeed of Pabna, Rafiqul Islam and Jalal Hossain of Brahmanbaria, Shafiqul Islam and Manik Mia of Sherpur and M Sirajul Islam of Gazipur were among the identified criminals, said a press release.
