60 destitute families rehabilitated in Patuakhali
PATUAKHALI, Jan 29: A total of 60 destitute and poor families have been rehabilitated at Khajura Ashrayan Project under Kalapara Thana of Patuakhali district, reports BSS.
According to an official source, the Ashrayan project was built on 5.50 acres of land at village Khajura of Kuakata areas at a cost of Taka 8 lakh and at an allocation of 61 tonnes 397 kgs of wheat.
Of the total land, dwelling houses were built on 3.50 acres, pond on one acre, community centre on 20 decimals, school on 30 decimals, mosque on 20 decimals and graveyard on 30 decimals.
The members of 12 Engineering Battalion of Jessore Cantonment built six barracks of 60 dwelling houses at the project sites at Kuakata, the source added.
Receiving 60 keys of the houses from Captain Kausar Ahmed, Abdus Samad, Deputy Commissioner of Patuakhali handed over the keys to 60 destitute and poor family members.
The members of these families have been getting VGF card and mass education facilities at the Ashrayan project.
TNO of Kalapara Golam Rabbani said, the members of these families would be provided loans for development-oriented sectors in phases in future, the source said.
