6 Buddhist women awarded
Bangladesh Buddhist Women's Federation yesterday awarded six Buddhist women at International Buddhist Monastery in the capital's Merul Badda for their self-empowerment and achievements in their respective fields.
They are Ekushey Padak winner Pratibha Mutsuddi, founder of Rangamati-based Bain Textiles Monjulika Chakma, Managing Director of Berger Paints Rupali Chowdhury, singer Kanak Chapa Chakma, musician Mina Barua, and gynaecologist at Holy Family Red Crescent Hospital Dr Dipi Barua.
Among others, Sultana Kamal, executive director of Ain o Salish Kendra; Sara Zaker, noted actress; and Modhumita Barua Chowdhury, chairperson of the federation which organised the ceremony, were present.
