538 posts in Bogra Health, FP Deptt vacant

At least 538 posts are vacant for a long time in the Health and Family Planning (FP) Department in 12 upazilas in Bogra district.

The District Health and Family Planning office sources said that health care, monitoring and family planning activities are being hampered seriously. The vacant posts include the post of Civil Surgeon (CS) and that of the Deputy Director of Family Planning Department.

However, the two aforementioned important posts have been temporarily filled up.

The District Family Planning office sources said that at least 139 posts in the Family Planing department including that of the Deputy Director in Bogra district have been lying vacant for a long time.

One post of Deputy Director, three posts of midwife and 33 posts of pharmacist, out of 61 posts remain vacant in 12 upazilas.

A responsible officer of the department told that the activities of Family Planing and monitoring are seriously hampered due to vacant government sanctioned 139 posts in Bogra Family Planing department.

Civil Surgeon office sources said that, 399 various posts are lying vacant, out of a total strength of 1,779 posts. More than 30 per cent posts of Health Assistants are vacant.

One hundred sixty four posts, out of 515 posts of Health Assistants are vacant for a long time.
