5 lakh shrimp fry recovered in Ctg

Divisional fisheries officers recovered five lakh shrimp fry from the Third Karnaphuli Bridge and Kalurghat Bridge areas of Chittagong and detained one in this regard on Sunday.
The detainee was identified as Md Shahabuddin of Cox's Bazar.
Kamaluddin Chowdhury, district fisheries officer, said on information, a team led by Provati Deb, deputy director of fisheries department, recovered some four lakh shrimp fry from Chittagong-bound buses in Karnaphuli Bridge area.
“We detained Shahabuddin after he demanded we give the shrimp fry back,” he said.
Later, in another drive the same team recovered one lakh shrimp fry from a CNG-run auto-rickshaw in Kalurghat Bridge area.
