37 killed in Khulna metropolitan areas last year
KHULNA, Jan 1: At least 37 people were killed in the metropolitan areas here last year, reports UNB.
Past enmity, political rivalry, family feud and terrorist acts were the key causes of the murders.
According to police, the figure marked a 64.86 per cent rise i.e. 13 more people were killed in 5 thanas of the metropolis than that of last year.
Apart from killing, incidents of various crimes, including dacoity, snatching and burglary were increased in the city.
According to police Kochi, Ratan, F M Siraj, Shahjahan, Anwar, Mahbubur Rahman Raju, Arif Rahman, Sajit Kumar, Kadbanu, Sirazul, Rabiul, Rafiqul Islam, Zahiruddin Panna, Bikash Barui, Abu Hasan Tarafder, Suman, Lucky, Khalid, Ganesh, Zahidul Islam and Motaleb were killed during first nine months of the last year.
