2 TV journos remanded for 'instigation'

A Dhaka court placed two journalists of a private television channel on a four-day remand on charge of 'instigating cocktail blasts' in the capital today.
Police picked up reporter Tanvid Rony and cameraperson Proshanto Modok of Rtv in Kamrangirchar area around 7:30pm after pro-blockade activists exploded several cocktails there.
Sources said the opposition activists brought out a procession in support of BNP-led 18-party opposition combine-enforced 72-hours blockade. The processionists charged several cocktails there.
Police arrested the duo when they are taking pictures of the explosions.
Police also filed a case against the journalists with Kamrangirchar Police Station in this connection, Sheikh Mohsin Alam, officer-in-charge of the station told The Daily Star.
Dhaka Reporters Unity President Shahed Chowdhury and General Secretary Elias Khan strongly protested the arrest of journalists.
