2 held as they go to receive Tuhin's body at DMCH

Police yesterday arrested two members of a gang, when they went to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) to receive the body of Tuhin Sarkar, the gang leader.

Tejgaon police arrested Sagar and Sakil who went to the DMCH along with Tuhin's younger brother Shaheen Sarkar.

Tuhin, accused in seven cases including murder, was arrested by the members of the joint forces from Tejgaon area, and was sent to the Dhaka Central Jail on October 21. He was given one-month detention on October 27 under the Special Powers Act.

Tuhin fell sick at about 2:00pm Thursday and was rushed to the jail hospital. He was shifted to the DMCH as his condition deteriorated at about 3:00pm and the on-duty doctors declared him dead.

Tuhin's family members received the body from the hospital, after postmortem yesterday night.
