17 sued on charge of killing 2 Bogra Jubo League men
Seventeen people were sued yesterday on charge of killing two Jubo League men in the town on Sunday.
The 'identified' accused are district unit Swechchhasebok League president Asadur Rahman Dulu, Abu Jafor Siddiki Ripon, president of the upazila unit, wanted criminals Menko, Jhontu, Milon, Samsad, Choto Shahin, Rimu, Alamgir, Mister and Jubo Dal activist Hasan.
Surovi Begum, wife of Majnu Pramanik, one of the deceased, filed the case with Shajahanpur police station.
Majnu Pramanik , 43, member of district unit Jubo League and son of late Sukur Ali of Phultola area in Bogra town and his nephew Nahid, 24, son of Dulu Mia of the area and activist of the unit, were murdered by criminals in Gondagram area of the upazila on Sunday.
The killings took place when the deceased were holding a meeting with district Swechchhasebok League president Asadur Rahman Dulu at the house of Ripon, president of upazila unit Swechchhasebok League.
Police said the two might have been killed by party rivals over a previous enmity or over sharing of illegally earned money.
Jubo League district committee member Aminul Islam Dablu, however, said Jubo Dal and JCD men might have killed the two.
Of the accused, Ripon and Totla Babu were arrested in connection with the killings, said assistant superintendent of police Gaziur Rahman.
The case was transferred to Detective Branch (DB) of police, Bogra for rapid investigation, said the ASP.
