16 football fans injured

Football fervour unfortunately got the better of a few supporters in Chittagong as at least 16 people were critically injured when a corrugated tin shed roof collapsed during a football match in the Patiya Model High School yesterday afternoon.
Over a hundred people climbed up on the roof of a classroom of the adjacent Patiya Govt College to watch the match.
According to officials, the corrugated tin shed roof collapsed due to overload at around 4.30pm. The injured were admitted to Patiya Upazila Health Complex.
The match, which was the final of the Sheikh Kamal Under-21 Tournament, was played between the unions of Haindgaon and Kusumpura.
