138 gold bars seized at Ctg airport
Customs officials recovered 138 gold bars, weighing 16.1kg, worth around Tk 7 crore, from a toilet of a Bangladesh Biman flight at Shah Amanat International Airport in Chittagong yesterday.
Crewmen of BG 046 flight were the first to spot two long black belts, made of cloth, with hidden chambers to carry the gold bars in the toilet, said Parvez Al Zaman, assistant commissioner of Airport Customs.
Airport Customs official and Customs Intelligence recovered the gold bars when the flight from Dubai landed at 10:30am.
None was arrested in this connection.
