1114 more held

Police arrested 1114 persons including four 'identified criminals' from across the country in 24 hours ending at 6 am yesterday. During the countrywide drive, they also seized three firearms and 14 bullets, a police headquarters press release said.

Among the arrested, three persons were nabbed in connection with arms seizure and three separate cases were filed under the Arms Act against them, the release added.

Of the arrested, 614 were under warrants and 493 were arrested in connection with under-investigation cases.

Among the arrested identified criminals are: Mohammad Shihab Uddin of Kushtia, Abdur Jabbar of Bagerhat, Bhutta of Dhaka city and Tofazzal Hossain of Narsingdi district.
