11-party demands fresh CCC polls
The 11-party alliance has rejected the 'farcical' Chittagong City Corporation (CCC) polls held recently and demanded fresh election.
It also demanded election of three other city corporations.
The demands were made at a meeting of the alliance on Wednesday night at Gano Forum office with Dr Kamal Hossain in the chair.
The meeting said the voterless CCC polls have set up 'another ugly example of election' in the country and ensured 'victory of mastan-terrorists-mafia gangs' of the ruling party.
On the other hand, the alliance said BNP, Jamaat and Jatiya Party have created a reign of terror by resorting to terrorism in the name of boycotting and resisting polls.
It is also not the duty of the Election Commission to hold a farcical election, the meeting said.
The meeting was attended by alliance leaders Azizul Islam Khan, Rashed Khan Menon, Saifuddin Ahmed Manik, Manjurul Ahsan Khan, Khalequzzaman, Dilip Barua, A F M Mahbubul Haq, Mujahidul Islam Selim, Morshed Ali, Bazlur Rashid Firoz, Mostaq Ahmed and Sagir Anwar.
