100 houses gutted in city

Over 100 houses were gutted in a fire at Rothkhola in old part of the city last night, reports UNB.

Some tailoring shops in the area were also damaged by the fire.

Fire brigade and police sources said the fire originated from an unknown source soon, engulfed the whole area at about 8.30 pm.

Nine fire fighting units rushed to the spot and extinguished the blaze after two hours.
