10-year-old girl fighting for life

A ten-year-old girl is fighting for life at Mymensingh Medical College and Hospital (MMCH) as she was allegedly raped by a man at a crop land near Datbhanga bridge under Melandah upazila Sunday night, victim's family sources said.
The victim is a class five student of Purbosagilapur Govt. Primary School and resident of village Purbosagilapur under the upazila.
Police and locals said the girl went out of their home at around 6.30pm on June 9 for selling 2 liters of milk at Ghusherpara Milon Bazar near the village. On her way Jahidul Islam alias Azizol, 30, son of Habibar Sarder of Gunaritola lured the child promising to buy the milk. He then took her on his motorbike.
At around 9:00pm Azizol took the girl near the bridge and violated her, Ghusherpara UP chairman Obaidur Rahman quoting the victim said. Then he again raped the girl near a brick kiln at Saguna. Finally he dumped the girl on the roadside at around 10.30pm, the chairman said.
A villager found the girl and rushed her to Jamalpur general hospital.
Victim's father filed a rape case with Melandah police station accusing Jahidul Islam Azizol on June 10, Belal Uddin, officer-in-charge of the police station said.
“The Melandah and Maderganj police are trying to arrest the rapist,” the OC added.
