JS body against male officials abroad with female athletes

The Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Ministry of Youth and Sports yesterday suggested the ministry to send female officials instead of male ones with women players when they go abroad to participate in any competition.
At the 8th meeting of the body at Jatiya Sangsad, it also suggested the ministry to prepare a master plan for turning Sultana Kamal Mahila Complex into a complete sports complex.
The committee's Chairman Zahid Ahsan Russel presided over the meeting.
While discussing the activities of Bangladesh Women's Sports Agency, the parliamentary watchdog asked the government to increase funds for it.
Illegal migration attempt to Malaysia foiled, trafficker held

Police yesterday arrested a human trafficker in Chittagong city, foiling an attempt of illegal migration of four youths to Malaysia for jobs.
The four, Kawsar Ali, Ismail Hossian, Majharul Islam, all of Sirajganj, and Ahad Molla, of Narail, were also detained a few minutes after they had checked out of a hotel in Nandankanon.
They had a deal to pay the trafficker, Belal Hossain, of Teknaf, a total of Tk 8 lakh after reaching Malaysia, through the sea route, without any necessary documents. All the five were produced before a court that sent Belal to jail and released the four.
Explosion on gas cylinder laden truck guts 15 shops in N'ganj

Fifteen shops were gutted as gas cylinders loaded on a truck exploded in Tarabo Hatipara area of Rupganj upazila in Narayanganj yesterday.
The fire started around 3:30am soon spread to the adjacent shops. Fire fighters doused the fire within one hour, said police.
Fire service officials said the extent of damage could be said after investigation, however, the shop owners claimed it would be around Tk 50 lakh.
One shot, two hacked by muggers on Dhaka-Aricha highway

Two men were hacked while another was shot in two mugging incidents on Dhaka-Aricha highway between Sunday night and early yesterday.
Near Ashulia's Dairy Gate, two muggers on a motorbike shot Tofazzol Hosen, a marketing officer at CP Bangladesh, in his leg before snatching his belongings, including a motorbike, on Sunday. He was admitted to Enam Medical College Hospital.
In Savar's Khagan, fish traders, Horipodo Das and Selim Miah, were hacked with machetes by five muggers who came in a car and snatched away a total of Tk 12,000.
Missing woman's body found in Gazipur

A woman was found dead yesterday in a jungle of Kholartek area in Gazipur after she went missing on Saturday.
Taslima Begum, 28, of Sohadia village remained missing after she went out of home with some neighbours, her husband Bachchu Miah said.
Police sent the body to Gazipur Sadar Hospital for an autopsy.
A case was filed accusing Mazid, Islam Uddin, Mofiz Uddin and Khorshed of the area in this connection.
