Baby found abandoned at DMCH

A one-year-old baby boy with minor head injures was found unclaimed at the dental unit outdoor of Dhaka Medical College Hospital yesterday.
DMCH Deputy Director Dr Moshiur Rahman told The Daily Star that the baby also had other physical complications. The boy, cladding a yellow-pink colour T-shirt and trousers, was admitted to ward no-207 for treatment.
Debate on women's role held

Bangladesh Mahila Parishad yesterday held a debate competition between two groups of Dhaka University students emphasising the role of women in fighting violence against them.
Six DU students of women and gender studies department took part in the competition held in the parishad's Sufia Kamal Auditorium in the capital marking International Women's Day.
Baby's body recovered from river

Police recovered the body of an unidentified infant girl from the river Feni in Mirsarai upazila of Chittagong yesterday morning.
Jorarganj police Inspector (Investigation) Omar Faruk said locals noticed the body of the girl, aged around one, floating in the river in Dhumghat Bridge area.
SK+F medical college debate festival on March 28-29

National Debate Federation Bangladesh (NDF BD) and Chittagong Medical College Debating Club (CMC DC) are jointly organising the third SK+F NDF BD-CMC DC National Medical College Debate Festival`14 from March 28 till 29 at Chittagong Medical College.

Qulkhwani

Qulkhwani of Amena Khatun, wife of late AKM Hossain Ali, a former officer of the Ministry of Defence, will be held at Gono Bhaban Complex mosque today after Maghrib prayers.
She left behind seven daughters and a son, said a press release. Her relatives are requested to participate in the programme.
