SQ Chy hits out at ex-British envoy Anwar
BNP lawmaker Salauddin Quader Chowdhury yesterday accused former British high commissioner Anwar Chowdhury of having a hand in the 1/11 changeover.
He also raised question about the upcoming visit of Anwar Chowdhury to Dhaka on August 3, and urged the government not to allow him into the country.
"Anwar Chowdhury is one of the main architects of 1/11. His visit to Bangladesh is mysterious," the BNP leader told reporters at his Dhanmondi residence.
"The government has to take steps so that former western diplomats, including the British diplomat, who were involved in the 1/11 changeover cannot enter the country," he added.
Asked about the fate of his parliamentary membership, Salauddin said the Election Commission officials should go through Article 121 of the constitution to see whether the Election Commission has any authority to cancel the membership of any lawmaker.
Our Sylhet correspondent adds: Sylhet district and city units of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) brought out processions and held rallies in Sylhet yesterday protesting the upcoming visit of Anwar Chowdhury.
