Body of Ctg journo's son found

Police yesterday recovered the body of a journalist's son from the Karnaphuli River in Majhirghat area here.
The dead is Tasdik Uddin Chowdhury, 18, youngest son of Helal Uddin Chowdhury, former bureau chief of the Samakal and former chief reporter of Azadi, a local daily.
Tasdik remained missing since Saturday night when he went out of their Dewanjee Pukurpar residence following scolding by his parents for his unsatisfactory result in the HSC examination, family and police sources said.
Locals found the decomposed body struck at Anu Majhir Ghat near Banglabazar Majhir Ghat area at about 2:00pm.
Later, police rushed to the spot and recovered the body.
The officer-in-charge (OC) of Double Mooring Police Station said Tasdik might have committed suicide by jumping into the river two or three days ago.
