He sheltered Indian militant Obaidullah in his house

Police arrested a Bangladeshi national with suspected links to Pakistan-based Islamist militant outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) at Kamalnagar in Satkhira town on Wednesday night.
The arrestee, Muhaddis Obaidullah, 45, was produced in a Satkhira court yesterday, which placed him on a 10-day remand for interrogation.
His arrest followed leads from detained Indian national and a key organiser of LeT, and Kashmir-based militant outfit Asif Reza Commando Force (ARCF) Mufti Obaidullah.
Muhaddis is suspected to be an accomplice of Mufti Obaidullah who had taken shelter at his (Muhaddis) house in Satkhira after sneaking into Bangladesh in 1995.
Mufti Obaidullah, arrestetd on July 16 in Dhaka, is now being quizzed by the Taskforce for Interrogation Cell (TFI).
"We suspect Muhaddis Obaidullah is a hardcore militant since he had contacts with LeT organiser Mufti Obaidullah and talked to him even two months back, " Satkhira Superintendent of Police SM Moniruzzaman told The Daily Star.
Muhaddis admitted to police that he had come in contact with Mufti Obaidullah while studying at Sangu Madrasa in India for a year.
Our correspondent in Satkhira adds: Officer-in- Charge (OC) of Sadar Police Station SM Kamruzzaman said that after entering Bangladesh, Mufti Obaidullah had taken shelter at Muhaddis' house at village Haripur under Shymnagar upazila of Satkhira.
Both were teachers at Haripur Madrasa from 1995 to 1996 and at Bangshipur Shahi Mosque Madrasa in Shymnagar upazila from 1999 to 2000.
Meanwhile, JMB activist Montaj, who was arrested at a shrimp farm in village Sharulia in Tala upazila on Tuesday night, was placed on a 10-day remand for interrogation.
MANSUR ADMITS
Another detained Indian national and an LeT organiser, Maulana Mohammad Monsur Ali alias Maulana Habibullah, admitted to interrogators that he had expertise in making improvised mines and grenades.
He said he had training for this when he took part in the war against Soviet forces in Afghanistan.
Intelligence officials quizzing the two detained Indian nationals said they used to get funds from LeT and ARCF through hundi.
They said their main target was non-Muslim countries where Muslims are tortured.
