31 sued for war crimes
Thirty-one alleged collaborators of Pakistani occupation forces have been sued for killing, looting and arson in Satkhira and Gopalganj in 1971.
In Satkhira, Babar Ali, son of martyred freedom fighter Kinu Sardar of Boro Durgapur village in Assassuni upazila, filed a petition case with the Judicial Magistrate's Court on Tuesday accusing three 'rajakars' of killing his father during Liberation War, according to our correspondent.
The accused are Nesar-uddin Gazi of Kodonda village, Abdur Rouf, and Hossain Gain of Hajipur village under the upazila.
In the petition, the complainant stated that the accused picked up his father from their house on October 9, 1971. They took his father to Assassuni army camp and shot him dead.
The Court ordered the officer-in- charge (OC) of Assassuni Police Station to accept the petition as an FIR and file a case against the accused after investigation.
Twenty-eight people were sued in Goplalganj on Wednesday on charges of war crimes.
Freedom Fighter Khalilur Rahman Sheikh of Nakrirchar village under Sadar upazila filed a case with the court of Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate, reports BSS.
