Five killed in road accidents

Five people were killed in separate road accidents in Bogra, Brahmanbaria and Dinajpur yesterday.
Staff correspondent in Bogra reports: Three people were killed in separate road accidents in Bogra yesterday.
The dead were identified as Mujibur Rahman, Rafiqul Islam, and Azabul Islam.
Azabul, driver of a lorry, was declared dead at Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College after he met the accident at Chandihara yesterday morning.
Mujibur died at the same hospital yesterday from the injuries he suffered after getting hit by a bus on Monday night.
In another incident, truck helper Rafiqul Islam was killed on the spot as two trucks collided head-on at Matidali in the town yesterday morning.
Our correspondent in Brahmanbaria adds: One person was killed and five others were injured in a road accident on Dhaka-Sylhet highway at Rajabariakandi village under Sarial upazila in Brahmanbaria yesterday.
The dead was identified as Abdul Hakim, 22.
Police and hospital sources said the accident occurred when a tractor rammed a tempo from behind, leaving Hakim dead on the spot and injured five others.
The injured were sent to Brahmanbaria sadar hospital.
Our correspondent in Dinajpur adds: One person was killed and another injured in a road accident at Birganj upazila in Dinajpur yesterday.
The dead was identified as Putul Rani Roy, 18, a student of Birganj Women's College.
Police quoting witnesses said the accident occurred in front of Birganj Degree College at 1.30am when they were crossing the road after her class, them injured. Putul succumbed to her injuries on the way to hospital.
Another injured was sent to Dinajpur Medical College Hospital.
After the accident the agitating students of the college blocked the Dinajpur-Panchagarh highway for two hours.
