70 BDR mutineers face trial in 2 dists
Sedition charges have been pressed against 40 BDR mutineers in Bandarban while the trial process of 30 others in Chapainawabganj will start on July 1.
Bandarban District and Sessions Judge Rishikesh Saha on Tuesday fixed the date for hearing of the case on July 6 after accepting the charge sheet submitted by Naikhongchhari police.
Our correspondent from C'nawabganj adds: Thirty BDR men, accused of staging a mutiny at Chapainawabganj battalion headquarters following Pilkhana 'revolt,' were produced in the Court of Chief Judicial Magistrate Basudev Roy on June 14.
The law enforcers arrested the BDR men on May 18 following the sedition case filed with the Chief Judicial Magistrate's Court on May 17.
