Modern treatment facility for the poor to be available: PM
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said her government is taking initiatives to make modern treatment facilities easy available to the poor sections of society.
She made the remarks when a delegation of Postgraduate Doctors' Association led by its president Prof Shohrab Ali called on her at her office yesterday.
The delegation apprised The PM of the prospects for higher medical education, including opening MRCP courses and Postgraduate Centre in Bangladesh.
Hasina assured them of providing necessary support to this end so that people can get international standard healthcare services within the country.
She said, “One of the top priorities of the government is to deliver medicare facilities to the doorsteps of the commoners.”
She further said her government has also a plan to send highly qualified doctors to different countries by enhancing their skills on respective languages.
Secretary of the Prime Minister's Office Mollah Waheeduzzaman, Press Secretary to the Prime Minister Abul Kalam Azad, Prime Minister's Personal physician Colonel Dr Omar Hassan and Dr Major Nilima Akhtar were present.
