Smuggled cloth seized

Police yesterday raided a trawler on the Kachikhali river and recovered about 200 packets of smuggled Indian cloths. During the raid, they arrested four people and seized the trawler. Matiur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Bhandaria Police Station said the arrestees loaded the goods at a point between Patharghata of Barguna and Tushkhali of Mathbaria on Saturday night. They were coming to Pirojpur for sending the cloth to different parts of the country through small boats, he added.
