10 BCL men injured in factional feud

Two rival groups of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) at Dhaka College clashed over occupying seats in a student dormitory leaving at least 10 students injured yesterday.
The injured students took treatment at Dhaka Medical College and Hospital.
Sources said a few days back activists of Titu group grabbed two seats for their supporters at North hall which was opposed by the activists of Tareq group.
The clash ensued last night when the activists of Tareq group tried to evict the two students from the seats.
Both the groups equipped with machetes, knives and sticks attacked each other leaving at least 10 activists from both the groups injured.
During the one-hour-long clash several chases and counter-chases took place on the dormitory compound causing panic among the general students who said they also heard several gunshots.
The feuding students also ransacked four rooms of the hall.
On information, police rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control at around 4:00am, said the Officer-in-Charge (OC) Kamal Uddin.
