Judicial probe demanded
Left Democratic Alliance (LDA) yesterday demanded formation of an impartial judicial probe body to investigate into the February 25-26 carnage at the BDR headquarters in the city.
The demand came at a meeting of its central working committee. The LDA leaders at the meeting also demanded the government to make all the probe reports on BDR mutiny public.
Protesting the mass arrest of BDR personnel, their harassment, torture and death in custody, the meeting demanded immediate halt to these.
It also urged all to forge a united movement against the bid to make the country into desert by constructing Tipaimukh Dam by India.
Bazlur Rashid Firoz chaired the meeting, which was also attended by Comrade Khalequzzaman, Saiful Haque, Badrul Alam, Abdus Salam, Babul Biswas, Zonaid Saki, Shamim Imam, Hamidul Haque, Rashequzzaman Raton and Pathak Goldar.
