Reopening of RU demanded

Progotishil Chhatra Jote (PCJ), a combine of left-leaning student organisations, held a rally at Shaheb Bazar in the city Thursday evening demanding immediate reopening of Rajshahi University (RU) and five other educational institutions.
Earlier, students from different educational institutions under the banner of PCJ brought out a procession in the city and paraded different streets.
At the rally, the speakers blamed the authorities concerned for creating session jam through unscheduled closure of the institutions after a clash on Rajshahi University (RU) campus on March 13 and demanded immediate arrest and exemplary punishment of those involved.
They also urged the government to bring the so-called students, who are involved in extortion and other criminal acts at the education institutions, to book.
