14 sued in Mymensingh, Satkhira for '71 killing
Fourteen alleged collaborators of Pakistani occupation forces have been sued for killing four people, including a freedom fighter, in Mymensingh and Satkhira in 1971.
In Mymensingh, a case was lodged with Additional Judicial Magistrate's Court here on Thursday, accusing 10 people of killing freedom fighter Taleb Ali Mondal and his two brothers at village Bhalukia under Phulbaria upazila, reports our correspondent.
Md Khorshed Ali, son of martyred freedom fighter Taleb Ali Mondal, filed the case.
The accused are Md Reazuddin Fakir, 70, Haji Mohammad Amjad Ali, 70, Azimuddin Munshi, 70, Mukshed Ali, 62, Moyezuddin, 60, Nurul Islam, 65, Mohan Ali, 70, Amir Hossain, 60, Abdus Samad Master, 62, and Md Meherullah, 70.
In the case statement, the complainant said the accused with the help of some unidentified collaborators picked up his father and two uncles-- Shekander Ali Mondal and Altaf Ali Mondal-- from their house at around 9:00pm on November 21, 1971.
He further stated that the collaborators later took the three to Bhalukjan Bridge on the Akhalia river and killed them.
Accepting the case, Magistrate Jahangir Hossain asked Phulbaria Police Station to take legal steps after proper investigation.
Our Satkhira correspondent adds: A case was filed with Chief Judicial Magistrate's Court here yesterday, accusing four people of their alleged involvement in the killing of a man in Kalaroa upazila during Liberation War in 1971.
Babar Ali Sardar, son of Kalu Sardar of Sonabaria village under Kalaroa upazila, filed the case.
The accused are Abu Musa and Mohor Ali Sardar of Brajabaksa village, Maulana Ahmad Ali of Jhhikra village and Zobed Ali Chawkidar of Sonabaria Village under Kalaroa upazila.
In his statement, the complainant alleged that as per directive of Sheikh Abul Kashem, the then peace committee chairman of Kalaroa upazila, the accused abducted his maternal uncle Rajab Ali from Sonabari village at gunpoint on April 14, 1971. They took Rajab to Sonabaria intersection and killed him.
Magistrate MA Syeed accepted the case and asked the officer-in-charge (OC) Kalaroa Police Station to investigate the case and report.
