6 BCL men expelled from JU

The Jahangirnagar University (JU) authorities yesterday expelled six students for six months for their involvement in Friday's violent incident in its Mir Mosharraf Hossain Hall.
The students are Shafiul Mahmud of Statistics dept, Arif Iqbal Hossain and Sajidur Rahman of History dept, Khan Mohammad Abu Sayeed Al Arabi and Zihan Hossain of Government and Politics dept and KM Taifur Siddique of Geography and Environment department, says a JU press release.
Under section 8 of disciplinary ordinance, Vice-chancellor Prof Sharif Enamul Kabir expelled the students.
At least 15 people were injured in a clash between two factions of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) over establishing supremacy in the hall.
