BNP to oppose anti-people treaty
Key leaders of BNP yesterday said they would oppose the singing of any treaty with any country that would go against the national interest.
Addressing a discussion at the Engineering Institution on the occasion of Amar Ekushey, they said the government would not be allowed to sign any such treaty with India until Bangladesh's maritime boundary is settled with the neighboring country.
Chaired by BNP secretary general Khandaker Delwar Hossain, the meeting was addressed by former ministers M Saifur Rahman, Moudud Ahmed, Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain, Mirza Abbas, Selima Rahman and Tanvir Ahmed Siddiqui.
They said they would also oppose the signing of Trade and Investment Framework Treaty with the USA as it would harm the country's interests in many ways.
