MRP scheme not placed in Ecnec meet
The much-awaited machine-readable passport (MRP) and visa project was not placed in the meeting of Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (Ecnec).
"Due to some printing mistakes and problems in preparing the report, the project was not placed in the Ecnec meeting today," Planning Minister AK Khandakar told the reporters after the meeting at the NEC auditorium in the capital yesterday.
It would be placed on next Tuesday, said the minister.
However, the Ecnec meeting with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the chair approved four development projects involving Tk 433 crore.
The projects are development of infrastructure, drainage system and environment of commercial capital Chittagong and rural infrastructure development project: Chittagong Hill Tracts under Local Government Department, extension of Rangpur-Badarganj-Parbatipur road and district road Development (Sylhet Zone).
