A Rajshahi court yesterday sent Daud Hossain and Nur-e-Anwar, two arrested accused in the case for killing 15 people in Mohonpur during the 1971 Liberation War, to jail custody.
Both the accused did not submit any bail prayer with the court and they were weeping as police were taking them out of the court.
The Second Rajshahi Judicial Magistrate's Court ordered sending them to jail when the police placed him before the court at the end of two-day remand.
On November 30 in 1971, the two accused along with 19 others abducted 15 people of Berabari and Mugroil villages and all of the kidnapped people were killed later, according to the case filed against Daud and Nur.
“During interrogation, the accused said that as Razakars they were with Pakistani soldiers when the persons were abducted, but they were not involved with any murders,” said M Shahabuddin Khan, SP of police in Rajshahi, said.
