Garment jhut gutted in Ctg factory

A huge amount of garment jhut (by-product) was gutted and some ready products damaged in a fire at a garment factory at Dewanhat intersection in the port city yesterday evening.
The fire broke out on the third floor of six-storey Mishu Apparels in Dewanhat area at around 7:45pm and engulfed jhut on the floor, said BGMEA Secretary Mohammad Moinuddin.
Some of the ready products were damaged when the floor inmates tried to extinguish the fire.
There was no worker inside the factory during the incident, he added.
No casualty was reported and cause behind the fire and quantity of losses could not be known immediately.
