National Street Theatre Festival gains momentum in Faridpur
The two-day National Street Theatre Festival in Faridpur ended recently.
With the slogan "Abhoy Bajey Hridoy Majhey," Bangladesh Group Theatre Federation (BGTF) arranged the event at Swadhinata Mancho, Judge Court premises in the town.
Boishakhi Natya Goshthi, Shaheed Sufi Natya Chakra, Bangla Theatre, Shuniom Natya Chakra, Kheyali Natya Sampraday, Kheya Sanskriti Sangstha, Mastool Theatre Art of Faridpur and Shamota Theatre from Gopalgonj district participated in the festival.
The troupes staged their productions -- "Amago Fa(n)shi De," "Ekhaney Shesh Noy," "Rakhali," "Khepa Paglar Pyachal," "Manusher Jonno," "Jharmoni," "Ekusher Raate" and "Thaba" respectively.
The festial was inaugurated by Nomita Kunda, an elderly dancer and actor of Faridpur on February 5.
Shahadat Hossein Khan Hilu, central presidium member, BGTF attended the function as chief guest while Uttam Kumar Saha, organising secretary of BGTF was the special guest.
Among others, Abu Sufian Chowdhury Kusal, Salam Mollah, Shawkat Ali Zahid and M. Nizam spoke at the inaugural ceremony of the festival with Aminur Rahaman Farid in the chair.
