Mobile phone network to remain open

Mobile phone network across the country will remain open as usual on the upazila election day today, Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) ATM Shamsul Huda said yesterday.
Addressing the nation on television and radio on the eve of the voting in 480 upazilas, the CEC said like the December 29 parliamentary elections, the mobile phone network will remain open to accomplish the election-related task in a free and fair manner.
He, however, made it clear that unauthorised persons with mobile phones will not be allowed to enter the polling centers.
