Niaz, Debaraj in winning spree
Grandmaster Niaz Murshed and fellow Bangladeshi player Debaraj Chatterjee both won their first two matches of the 7th Parsvnath International Open Chess Tournament in Delhi, India.
However, Mohammad Ali earned 1.5 points and FM Mohammad Javed one point after the second round games on Sunday.
In the second round, Niaz beat R Preethi of India, Debaraj defeated Shakya Rabindra of Nepal, Ali drew with Lava Kumar Shrestha of Nepal and Javed lost to GM Safin Shukhrat of Uzbekistan.
A total of 426 players including 20 GMs and 32 International Masters are participating in the event.
