DU signs MoU for new 'Kalabhaban'

Dhaka University (DU) yesterday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Indian High Commission in Bangladesh on construction of a new Kalabhaban for the Department of Theatre and Music.
DU Vice-Chancellor Prof SMA Faiz and Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Pinak Ranjan Chakravarty signed the MoU at a simple ceremony on the campus, a DU press release said.
As per the MoU, the Indian government agreed to extend supports to the construction of a new wing for Theatre and Music Department in the Faculty of Arts in Dhaka University.
The proposed wing will include classrooms for the students of the Music, Theatre and Drama, Library and computer rooms, design and makeup studio, and office space.
