Finishing line of election roadmap appears
Commerce Adviser Hossain Zillur Rahman yesterday said finishing line of the election roadmap is now appearing after all ambiguities which has become possible due to efforts made by the countrymen.
Speaking as the chief guest at the inaugural ceremony of 4th BSME-ASME international conference on 'Thermal engineering' at LGED Bhaban, he said Election Commission and law enforcement agencies are awake, adding that the government is keeping its eyes on the all-out preparation for the polls.
Bangladesh Society of Mechanical Engineers (MSME) organised the programme with its President Prof MH Khan in the chair.
Zillur thanked all candidates, voters and supporters for showing the world that Bangladesh has become a model of a developing democracy.
“We have already seen competitive attitudes among the candidates who are also following electoral code of conduct that indicates a credible general election to be held on December 29,” he added.
The adviser said, “We have taken every possible steps in a transparent way to hold the elections across the country.”
Zillur said, “As professionals are going to play an important role in emerging Bangladesh, we need strong commitment in professionalism and transparency and accountability in professional bodies.”
BSME Secretary General Prof M Imtiaz Hossain, Prof AKM Sadrul Islam and Prof M Khairul Alam also addressed the inaugural session.
