14 Indians pushed in
Border Security Force (BSF) of India pushed in 14 Bangla speaking Indian nationals through the Sholmari border under the cover of deep fog and chilling cold early yesterday.
Those pushed in are Mahima Khatun, Razia Khatun, Morjina Begum, Asha, Matiar Rahman, Mitu, Shahina Khatun, Swapna Begum, Kalam Ali, Fatema Begum, Phuljan Begum, Asha, Lata, and Latifa Banu.
They said more than 200 people were picked up from their houses in different areas of Kolkata and detained them in jail 12 days ago. On Wednesday they were transported to Ilishmari border in Nadia district. Thirteen of them were herded near the barbed wire fence at Rudranagar at night and forcibly pushed across the border early in the morning.
Asked about the pushed-in, Mirpur battalion commander of BDR Lt Col Sayeed said they were investigating into the matter.
