PBCP leader killed by party rivals
A regional leader of outlawed Janajudhha, a faction of PBCP (Purba Banglar Communist Party), was killed by party rivals in a remote village of the district in the early hours of yesterday.
The victim was identified as Md Alauddin Alal, 28, son of Md Azam Ali of Demra Charpara village under Faridpur upazila.
Locals said the extremists chopped him to death near his residence.
Being informed police recovered the body and sent it to Pabna General Hospital morgue for autopsy.
Police said the rivals might have killed him over previous enmity.
Md Golam Faruk, officer-in-charge of Faridpur Police Station, said Alauddin was an accused in several cases including six for murder.
