Contractor sued in Barisal

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has filed a case against Mia Mohammad Tazul Islam, a contractor of roads and high ways department, for corruption and amassing assets beyond known sources of his income and concealing wealth information.
Hayatul Islam Khan, assistant commissioner of Barisal Metropolitan Police, told The Daily Star that ACC Assistant Director Ram Mohan Nath filed the graft case with Barisal Model Police Station on Thursday night.
According to case statement, Tazul possesses wealth worth Tk 49.89 lakh, which is inconsistent with his known sources of income, and concealed the information on bank deposits and savings in his wealth statement submitted to the ACC.
